Background of Coaching (1984 - 1990)
​
Wade was fortunate enough to be a part of the Natal State Team 1984-1990 and in having the opportunity to be coached by some of South Africa’s greatest surf coaches.
Development of Coaching (1995 - 2001)
​
Wade started coaching individual lessons in 1995/96 with a multitude of +/-20 junior athlete's within Durban, among these junior athlete's David Weare - Travis Logie - Warrick Wright - Jordy Smith, and then formed a SURF Academy coaching program 1998 - 2001 with the idea and goal of generating a squad of competitive juniors to come out of their local surf break 'New Pier' Durban, South Africa.
These nurturing years of coaching in Durban built a strong foundation for the next generation...

2002 ISA WORLD SURFING GAMES - 'New Pier' Durban, South Africa.
The South African Surfing Team placed 1st GOLD 'Team' overall with the following individual results:
ISA World Surfing Games - 1st place GOLD World Champion 'Mens' Travis Logie
